Having observed the unique challenges faced by those who have suffered a brain injury, Michelle Dane decided early on that helping to make a difference in their lives was something she wanted to pursue. After completing a BA with a concentration in psychology, she had the opportunity to work alongside a psychologist in the brain injury field, which further solidified her passion. In 2012, she brought her skills and expertise to Brainworks as a rehabilitation therapist, covering our Sudbury region.
Throughout her career, Michelle has provided individualized services to clients of all ages, from young children to seniors, based on their own unique type of brain injury. She has worked with teams of professionals which have included psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, rehab therapists, doctors, nurses and other clinicians while providing therapeutic services. She has assisted clients with serious brain injury in relearning or re-engaging in activities of daily life, expressive and receptive language skills, social interaction, physical therapy, motor skills, memory exercises and scheduling to help them stay on track.
Michelle’s goals as a therapist are to support our clients to fulfill their hopes and dreams. Compassionate, resourceful, with problem-solving ability and a never-give-up attitude, Michelle puts her heart and soul into caring for our clients. In rehab the possibilities on the horizon are wide-ranging. Michelle is inspired by those possibilities and she helps our clients turn them into reality.
Michelle helps her clients steadily adapt to a new way of life after severe injury. As she watches their progress, she finds it greatly inspiring to see them regain the ability to express themselves and start living life again. The strength and determination of our clients motivate her to do the best she can in her therapeutic work to help them make even greater gains. We are very proud to have Michelle and the special skills she brings as part of our team serving clients in the Sudbury region.
