For the second year in a row Brainworks has won the Canadian Businesses Excellence Award. Brainworks is one of only 25 companies in Canada that was recognized this year with this special designation. The Business Excellence Award recognizes businesses that clearly demonstrate a strategic approach to successfully improving business performance and achieving goals, with a focus on: Delighted Customers; Engaged Employees; and Innovation.


2017: Health Care Provider of the Year

Brainworks’ own Arden McGregor is this year’s recipient of the 2017 Award of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Health Care Provider of the Year.
The Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA) in collaboration with the Personal Injury Alliance (PIA Law) presented the 2017 Awards of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation. These awards are meant to recognize those who consistently provide exceptional service to the brain injury community.

2016: National Awards

On September 28, 2016 Brainworks received two awards at the National Conference of the Brain Injury Canada (Formerly Brain Injury Association of Canada). The awards were presented to Brainworks during an awards luncheon at the conference venue in Toronto, Ontario. The Corporate Leadership and Special Recognition awards honour the thirteen-year-old company’s achievements in the field of brain injury.

2016: Apex Award of Excellence: Casey’s Journey of Hope

APEX Award of Excellence


Brainworks has won the prestigious APEX Award of Excellence for Electronic Media. This is Brainworks’ first international award. The Apex Award of Excellence is the second award given for Brainworks’ publication of Casey’s Journey of Hope.

For the second time in as many years, Brainworks has been honoured with the 2015 corporate leadership Award by Brain Injury Canada. As a team endeavour, our staff gifted and delivered hundreds of candles and inspirational cards in honour of 2015’s Brain Injury Awareness month in an effort to raise awareness for those living with the effects of ABI.


2014: YWCA Muskoka Woman of Distinction

Arden McGregor was the recipient of the 2014 YWCA Muskoka Woman of Distinction Award in the Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship category. The award is granted annually to a woman who has made outstanding contributions to the Muskoka community through her entrepreneurial endeavours. Arden`s community work on behalf of Brainworks resulted in this honour!

On September 25, 2014 Brainworks received two awards at the National Conference of the Brain Injury Canada (Formerly Brain Injury Association of Canada). The awards were presented to Brainworks during an awards luncheon at the conference venue in Gatineau, Quebec. The Corporate Leadership and Communication awards honour the eleven-year-old company’s achievements in the field of brain injury.

Corporate Leadership Award: This award is granted to a corporation for their leadership in sponsoring an event or a program to promote and advance the cause of acquired brain injury in Canada

Casey’s Journey of Hope, a Brainworks publication, has won the prestigious Canada Book Award


The Canada Book Awards program recognizes and promotes Canadian author outstanding accomplishment. The award program recognizes the timelessness of a book’s merit.

2014: Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA) Professional of the Year Award

Arden McGregor, Executive Director at Brainworks, has been named OBIA’s Professional of the Year for 2014!

The Professional of the Year is awarded to a professional who has made outstanding contributions to improving the lives of those living with the effects of acquired brain injury.

2013: National Awards

On September 25, 2013 Brainworks received two awards at the National Conference of the Brain Injury Association of Canada. The awards were presented to Brainworks during an awards luncheon at the conference venue in Kingston, Ontario. The Special Recognition and Communication awards honour the ten-year-old company’s achievements in the field of brain injury.


In an email to Brainworks senior management, Executive Director Arden McGregor, who had just finished giving a presentation at the conference, said she was “over the moon” with excitement at receiving the awards.


The Special Recognition Award is granted to an individual, group or organization for their outstanding support, devotion or friendship to advance the cause of brain injury in Canada. Brainworks was recognized for its achievements in brain injury awareness and prevention, its participation in the communities it serves and its support to a long list of organizations.


The Communication Award is granted to an individual, group or organization for their outstanding efforts in promoting, advertising or communicating to advance the cause of brain injury in Canada. Brainworks staff have had articles published in several journals. The company’s involvement in social media grows daily and it has launched leading-edge rehabilitation programs available on the Internet. The award acknowledges Brainworks significant communications achievements in the brain injury field.
