Image of Christine Willman When her son suffered a traumatic brain injury at the age of 3 years, Christine Willman’s life changed in an instant. She found herself suddenly thrust into the world of lawyers, specialists, funding issues, meetings and therapists.

Christine was a registered nurse working in critical care at that time, and she was already an expert on trauma and its aftermath. Throughout the following eleven years, her passion for patient advocacy and rehab grew, and her compassion and understanding for clients and families deepened in a way possible only through personal experience. As her nursing expertise continued to expand, Christine found herself increasingly drawn toward a career in case management. Her motivation and dedication resulted in a position as the Paediatric Nurse Case Manager for Paediatric Trauma at London Health Sciences Centre. With her desire to work in the community increasing, she went on to work in case management in the private sector, before joining the Brainworks team in June 2010. As Brainworks’ Nurse Case Manager, she serves the London-Middlesex, St. Thomas-Elgin regions, and beyond.

Christine has been a nurse for over twenty years and has worked with children for six of those years. She strongly believes in Brainworks’ client and family-centred approach to rehab, looking at needs from the individual outward: “Putting the client’s and family member’s priorities first is most important. I work to maximize treatment efforts, optimize resources and facilitate recovery. I believe in Brainworks’ philosophy, which requires professionals to approach every decision point by first considering what the client wants and what is in the client’s best interest.”

Christine draws on her positive attitude, excellent rapport with others, and compassionate determination to ensure that each client has access to and receives all reasonable and necessary services. She is resourceful and knowledgeable about treatment options across the entire continuum of care. She believes in a multidisciplinary approach and takes her role as case manager very seriously. Over the years, she has developed excellent working relationships with medical professionals and community representatives within the hospital system and throughout the community.

As Nurse Case Manager at Brainworks, Christine ensures clinical excellence in client care, using all the resources and services available to treat serious injury. She is very excited about joining us in our mission to help our clients reach their greatest potential. Her compassion, determination and clinical expertise are powerful assets and we are proud to have her as part of the Brainworks team.
