Administrative/Executive Assistant to the Executive Director – Muskoka Area
Permanent employment to start April 9, 2012 in our Huntsville office. Initial training/orientation to start part time. Position to be full time as soon as duties are mastered. Responsibilities will vary according to the work and priorities of the Executive Director. Work outside of regular business hours may be required from time-to-time.
Duties include:
- Typical office duties
- Managing communication for the Executive Director (phone, in person, email, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements include:
- Accurate keyboarding skills, experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Experience using standard office equipment
- Explicit attention to detail
- Honed organizational skills
- Ability to carefully follow direction as well as work well independently and take initiative
- Relevant education / experience preferred
- Accurate written and oral communication

Rehabilitation Therapists provide one-to-one therapeutic intervention and support to clients of all ages and with varying levels of ability and disability. Clients include people with brain injuries, chronic pain, orthopedic injuries, psychiatric and behavioural disorders.
Intervention occurs in whatever location it is required: Homes, schools, work sites, hospitals, rest homes, and other locations as appropriate.

Rehabilitation Consultant/Case Manager
Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Services, the Rehabilitation Consultant/Case Manager will assemble and coordinate the health care professionals required to provide effective service to Brainworks clients in an assigned geographic area. Responsibilities will also include: recommending ways to enhance and develop case management protocols and procedures appropriate for Brainworks; maintaining knowledge about available services and assisting with the development of case management services in Brainworks’ territory.
Responsibilities
As a case manager with assigned clients:
- Assess client needs
- Plan and locate required health care providers
- Coordinate service provision
- Monitor the effectiveness of services provided
- Evaluate and realign services as required
- Facilitate communication among clients and those working with them, such as family and team members, other health or service providers, employers, legal and insurance representatives, educational representatives and employers
- Ensure that all administrative, legal, clinical and insurance details in client files are addressed
- Act as advisor to the Manager, Clinical Services on all matters pertaining to the position.
- Assist with the continued development of case management services throughout Brainworks territory. Be knowledgeable about available services in assigned area.
Qualifications
- Degree/diploma in a related field
- Be a regulated professional
- Five years post degree/diploma clinical experience in case management
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, consulting, communication (written and oral), team work and leadership skills
- Knowledge of community resources and legislative framework (SABS)
- Decision making, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to represent Brainworks effectively in the public and at team meetings

Professional Practice Leader, Social Work
Position Summary
The Professional Practice Leader, Social Work assists in the development and execution of policies, procedures and activities to ensure effective, efficient and economical operation of the Social Work Service, within the overall operating framework and policies of Brainworks and legislative requirements. Duties include providing consultation and supervision to social work staff, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all social work documents, monitoring the use and availability of funding for services and overseeing special projects or other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Act as advisor to the Manager of Clinical Services on all matters pertaining to the position and the profession of social work.
- Participate in screening applicants for social work positions.
- Orient, train, supervise and evaluate assigned staff.
- Organize and conduct periodic training sessions for assigned staff and participate in the development and execution of wider staff training events.
- Receive all referrals for social work, ensure proper file set up and assign to staff.
- Oversee the preparation of all documents required to secure funding for services and ensure that funding is maintained as long as required.
- Ensure that all social work services are accomplished within the framework of funding approvals, including scheduling of treatment sessions, completion of reports and other requirements.
- Review and approve all client-related letters, reports or other formal documents outlining the work completed by Brainworks on behalf of assigned clients.
- Assist in maintaining effective working relationships with referral partners and community service providers.
- In collaboration with management staff, promote the Social Work Service in the community at large and among potential referral sources.
- Maintain clinical responsibilities, including case management duties, as needed.
Qualifications
- Master of Social Work and member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- At least three years supervisory and/or case management experience and five years related clinical experience
- Demonstrated interpersonal, consulting, communication, team work and leadership skills
- Knowledge of community resources and legislative framework (SABS)
- Decision making, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
