Our vocational services are individualized and are designed to minimize disability while promoting a successful return to work. We offer a full range of vocational programs.

Community-Based Vocational Placement

Community-based placements are non-paid temporary placements with a community host employer. They are invaluable when needing to build tolerances or confidence. They allow for an assessment of the client’s abilities to manage the demands in a real work environment. Insurance is available to host employers for the duration of the program.

Vocational Analysis and Planning

This is an analysis of pertinent information from which a comprehensive vocational plan is developed.

Vocational Assessment

A formal assessment of standardized inventories is administered to identify interests, aptitudes, achievements and learning potential. Realistic vocational options are outlined.

Transferable Skills Analysis (TSA)

The TSA results in a list of realistic occupational options to consider based on an analysis of objective information. Characteristics that are inappropriate based on medically supported limitations can be filtered out.

Labour Market Survey (LMS)

The LMS identifies hiring trends of companies for specific occupations within the client’s geographical area. The LMS identifies necessary qualifications, duties, physical demands, cognitive demands, modifications, earning potential and anticipated openings. An objective analysis of suitability and availability is established.

Job Coaching

Job Coaching is available during paid or non paid work to assist in monitoring, observing the client’s work skills and reinforcing appropriate strategies (body mechanics, pacing, lifting techniques) to assist in a successful transition.

Job Search Strategies

An individually tailored vocational plan is provided to assist the client in the job search process.

Return to Work Planning

Assistance is provided to the client and employer to assist in a successful return to work plan at the client’s previous employer.
