In the Community

Giving Back

We're very much a part of our community.

Together, we've faced challenges, collaborated to resolve issues, shared ideas, and helped one another any way we could. For all the special gifts we've received from our community, it's always been very important for us to give back.

As part of this endeavour, we have recently sponsored several community events, such as the:

  • Brain Injury Association of Windsor/Essex Taste of the Caribbean fundraiser
  • Brain Injury Association of London and Region’s annual conference
  • Sarnia-Lambton Brain Injury Association conference
  • Addiction Services of Thames Valley Inaugural Gala

We’ve sponsored sledge hockey tournaments, golf tournaments, and community leagues. And we’ve worked to facilitate the distribution of bicycle helmets to keep children safe.

Awareness & Prevention

Spreading the word about brain injury awareness and teaching prevention are two important ways we give back to our community. Through a variety of means, we are helping to build awareness, and in collaborative efforts with organizations such as the Brain Injury Association of Windsor/Essex, we participate in prevention campaigns (“the best way to treat an injury is to prevent it”). Community Participation

Brainworks staff are members of various boards, committees and organizations in the fields of brain injury, chronic pain and behaviour disorders. Not only is this a means of serving our community, but it allows us access to the most up-to-date information in the medical community and facilitates our delivery of the most comprehensive treatment to our clients. Being part of a community by definition is a two-way street. We have been given so much, and we are honoured to be able to return that kindness and generosity.

We have made it one of our goals to give back to the communities in which we work and live, and we are pleased to be associated with the following organizations:
